“I have this strange feeling that I’m not myself anymore. It’s hard to put into words, but I guess it’s like I was fast asleep, and someone came, disassembled me, and hurriedly put me back together again. That sort of feeling.”
“There is no such thing as Love at First Sight”, they said.
Her mind complied, her heart did not. The mind directed her to let go of his thoughts, the heart skipped a beat every time his name flashed on her phone screen. Her mind warned, “Infatuation it is. It’ll pass”, only the heart knew that she read and re-read their conversations every night, since the first “hello”. “It’s early for Love”, sighed the mind, yet the heart realized at his very first sight, he was all she ever wanted, all she was ever looking for, all she wished to spend her lifetime with. Her mind persuaded, “Perfect men do not exist”, her heart agreed for the first time ever, “Indeed, he is too perfect to be true”.
There are times when you meet your Prince Charming, someone who is exactly what you grow up hoping and wishing him to be. Yet, sometime the timing is flawed, deeply flawed. What do you do then? Let go of your dreams or let destiny take it’s own course? If you ask me, I would choose the latter. I believe in fate and if someone is meant to be so will it be. Falling in love in itself is beautiful and to dwell in that feeling is bliss.
When I talk about Love, nothing can beat what I feel for my City. The old lanes of North Calcutta, quaint little tea shops, hand rickshaws and the unpredictable showers..all of it effortlessly takes out the writer/poet in me. Also when it comes to scouting for a location for my shoot, everything around counts as a beautiful frame, don’t you think?
