Gaurang Shah celebrates colors with the Uttariya Festival

With Durga Puja less than a week away, Kolkata is at its ethnic best, catering to the last minute fashion needs of the city’s fashionistas. In a similar mood, Designer and Master of Weaves, Gaurang Shah celebrated the Uttariya Festival at his store in Kolkata.

Uttariya, meaning dupatta (Indian stoles) were celebrated in beautiful colors and designs. Each dupatta is carefully handcrafted in Khadi, Patan Patola, Kanjeevaram, Paithani, Benarasi, weaved in the Jamdani style. Like all his designs, these celebrated the unique art and craft in each and every Indian state.

P.S: I will be kick-starting the #7DaysofDesi in 5 days where I would feature Desi Street Styles sported by the city people during the Festive Season. You would have me posting regularly from 17th to 23rd October. Who all are excited?
