Ayurvedic Science has proved itself to be one of the safest and best ways for wellness. An ancient science of Medicine and Beauty, Ayurveda has existed for over 5000 years, passed down and improved upon over generations. Off late, my beauty regime includes most of natural herbs, fruits and spices. The results have been incredible! Kama Ayurveda has played a huge role into inspiring me to the Natural ways of treatment.
I had been recently invited by Kama Ayurveda for a talk on Ayurveda and it’s benefits by Dr. V.R. Vivekanand. A wonderful person and a well-known Ayurvedic Practitioner, Dr Vivekanand briefed us about the various aspects of Ayurvedic Well-Being. He also answered a number of queries raised by the audience.
Of the many things that I learnt, here’s sharing a few:
To treat Dandruff, use “Dhurdhura Patradi” in coconut or til oil base. Warm the oil and apply it on the scalp twice a week. Leave it on for half an hour and wash off with any anti dandruff shampoo.
Nalpamaradi and Kumkumadi oil in either til or coconut base work wonders for treating pigmentation.
For oily skin, Eladi Churnam and Manjisthadi Churnam may be used for treating acne and pimples.
Honey and Turmeric are excellent bleaching agents. Hence they should be avoided by men for application on face. Honey is a good conditioner as well.
Kama Ayurveda has well stocked products containing the aforementioned. The Kumkumadi oil is one of the most popular products. They also have the Nalpamaradi oil and an Eladi cream. The Rose water and Rose cleanser are great for all skin types. They have a number of organic and herbal soaps.
Besides the wonderful talk, we had a sumptuous spread by Smoke House Deli, complete with Ayurvedic Tea, Rose Lemonade and great food.
I plan to visit Kama Ayurveda again to buy their Kumkumadi oil. I am currently using their Bringadi oil in my hair and the results are brilliant.
