Product Review: Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic Grapefruit Face Wash

I have always been really fond of Aroma Magic products ever since I came to know of them. (Recommended read: Aroma Magic Cucumber Sunscreen Lotion review and Aroma Magic Hydro Gel review. Having a super-sensitive skin, I have been extra careful about the kind of products I use. The Aroma Magic Grapefruit Face Wash has proved itself quite satisfactory ever since I used it. grapefruit_face_wash1 What Aroma Magic has to say: It’s 100% free of paraben, soap, alcohol, artificial coloring and fragrances. It lightens and brightens the skin with grapefruit, lemon and aloe-vera extracts. It tightens pores with Vitamin C and Beta Carotene. It mattifies and revitalises the skin with the blend of Palmarosa and Neroli essential oils. grapefruit_face_wash5 Ingredients: Aqua Decyl glucoside Cocamidopropyl betaine Oliv-esters Palmarosa extracts Aloe-vera extracts Grapefruit seed extracts Lemon extracts Orange oil extracts grapefruit_face_wash4 What I discovered: Delving deep into the ingredients, this product is actually very well suited for normal to oily skin. The foam base is given by Decyl glucoside and Cocamidopropyl betaine which is a very mild cleansing base. Oliv-esters are compatible with all skin types and provide an extra nourishment preventing drying of skin. Palmarosa extracts give a soothing effect to the skin. It moisturizes the skin and balances the hydration level of skin. Aloe-vera works as an antiseptic to the skin. Grapefruit, Lemon and orange oil extracts help in skin-lightening and smoothening. Frankly speaking, I did not notice any miraculous skin lightening yet. But I’d still give that time. But it leaves my skin well hydrated after cleansing. It does not give my skin that tense pull and leaves it soft and moisturized. It works well as a cleanser as well. It smells great given the presence of essential oils. grapefruit_face_wash3 Packaging, Texture and Price: The product comes in a tube pack. The texture is liquid-like and runny. A 100 ml pack is priced at 125INR and a 50 ml pack at 70 INR. grapefruit_face_wash2 Things that might go wrong: This product is not recommended for those with dry skin. Also, I would not recommend using this alone as an acne-prone cleansing. Use it along with a acne care range, especially if it is the wrong time of the month (given you have an extremely acne-prone skin).

Verdict I would rate this product as satisfactory. Use it if you are looking for a mild cleanser for sensitive skin. I would not rate it as a great skin lightener. Do let me now your views on this product. Keep me posted with your comments. XOXO

  1. Hi, I have just bought a tube of Aroma Magic Grapefruit Face Wash. In the instruction, it is said that “mattifying sunscreen during the day is essential”. Therefore, I am so confused about the use of sunscreen. Must I apply suncreen after using this face wash? If I dont, will my skin become more vulnerable to sunlight? I am looking forward to receiving your reply. Thank you for your time!

    • Hi Trang! Thanks for dropping by. Sunscreen is a must when you are going out. This facewash helps in reducing the effects of the sun but it never replaces a sunscreen. Do let me know your experience with the product.
