When the very first billboard anouncing this grand event was put up, I wanted to be a part of it. So the moment Lavli from The Body Shop India, invited me for the Bengal Fashion Week, my excitement knew no bounds. The Body Shop, one of the leading beauty brands, happened to be be the make-up partner for this event. Their new range of make up, “Color Crush” was used on the ramp for the Jattinn Kochhar show.
After some excited phone calls to my blogger friend, Shayoni (Sweet and Bitter Blog) and chalking out plans with her, I got ready for the big event. We reached on time and after a few quick clicks were ushered in by Aanchal (who happens to be the sweetest person on earth) only to find a lot of familiar faces. Among the bloggers present were Debiparna (Flysongbird), Shikha(Sorelle Grapevine), Dolon (Pout Pretty), Bidisha (Mermaid Bidisha), Sharmistha, Somdatta (Pearly Poppies) and Nivedita (Beauty is Skin Deep). As if meeting such lovely people at such a glam event was not enough, we were told that we could go backstage to see the models getting their make-up done by The Body Shop experts. This made the day absolutely perfect.
Our evening started off with the first looks of Mona Pali followed by AD Singh’s show. His designs were a true reflection of the rich Indian culture. The use of bright colors, embellishments and beautiful cuts made the designs truly exquisite. Here are a few AD Singh moments captured.
The next show was the much awaited Jattinn Kochhar show, make-up by The Body Shop’s newly launched “Color Crush” range. The use of monochrome in Jattinn’s designs were brightened up by the pop colors in the make-up. Bright hues of reds, pinks and blues were used. The pictures say it all.
And here are a few of my favorite back-stage moments.
And that is Shayoni, posing pretty after the make-over.
Sadly, we could not stay for the Rocky S show as it was already late. The beautiful evening ended with a lovely goody bag from The Body Shop containing products which already got me addicted to the brand.
Before I sign off, here is what I wore to the event.
Dress: Aranya, Dakhhinapan
Neckpiece: Street haul

Before I say goodbye, a huge thanks to The Body Shop for the awesome experience. I’ll be back soon with another post on the Color Crush products. Till then keep it stylish!
