Lost in the wilderness of neon, prints and lace

“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.” -Alan Alda

Neon, lace and animal prints have been a huge rage this season. Although I am not much of a follower of trends, I could not help myself from falling in love with these trends. Until recently, I had always incorporated them in my regular looks individually (read about my post on animal prints here, lace here and neon here). Never did I realize that all these could be clubbed into a single outfit.

I stumbled across this piece while I was shopping for a dress for my birthday. I was not sure what I really wanted. I wanted something different, preferably a maxi dress (my love for maxi dresses!). After spending an entire evening getting grilled in the “pre-pujo” crowd in New Market, I found my love. This dress also gave me one of those rare pleasures of fitting into a dress I never thought I would.

The shrug was bought separately and teamed perfectly with the dress, the lace giving my back the perfect peek-a-boo. Last, but not the least I put on my dancing shoes (which were a bit too high to dance in) and got all dressed up for my birthday party.

I’m wearing:
Neon and animal print dress: Treasure Island, New Market
Black lace shrug: 109F
Black stilettos: Emami Shopping Centre

Days are getting shorter and there is a nip in the air. It’s almost time to welcome my favorite season of the year. Before that I am all excited about the festival of lights, Diwali. Yes, I have shopped, will write about it soon. Stay tuned for more posts. Till then, stay happy and gorgeous.
