Get “Printed” this Summer

It’s barely March and mercury levels have already started rising, higher than ever. Just because it gets hot and humid, does not mean you have to compromise on the fashion front. Well, summers as you all might know, are fashionably analogous to the fabric “Cotton”.

The moment we put together the terms “summer” and “cotton”, we end up with images of crisp-white summer dresses, floral skirts and shirts. But me, being inclined to traditional fashion, I love taking a slightly different route when it comes to summer cottons.

Kalamkari prints are my personal favorite among printed cottons. Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile. This type of print is based in Andhra Pradesh. The commonly found prints are the block-printed ones. They come in mostly earthen tones and are a great summer fabric option.

Kalamkari printed dress materials are widely available. Therefore you need not restrict yourself to the usual Sarees or Kurtas. Kalamkari dresses look extremely chic. You could also get yourselves a pair of printed trousers. Team it up with a white tank top. Shirts in these prints teamed with light colored denims would also make a great statement. Similarly, you could get yourselves a Kalamkari printed skirt stitched this season.

Fusion dressing gives you results you can never even imagine, of course in a positive sense. All you need is a crazy imagination and the guts to experiment beyond usual trends.

So, wear your sunscreen, put on your shades and get set to go shopping for some printed fashion.

For the final touch, keep that gorgeous smile on and stay stylish. Do not forget to leave your comments and suggestions.
