My Hair Story: Curling Pin-Straight Hair

One good thing about myself, I cannot help but agree, is my hair. I have been naturally blessed with a good quality hair. It’s pin-straight and extremely silky. But every coin has unfortunately two sides. On one side my hair is definitely worth flaunting, on the other, it’s equally difficult to style. Any style I try on ultimately lands me up with the same straight long hair without any difference.

As the feeling goes, “Grass is always greener on the other side”, or should I say, “Every other girl has better hair than me”, I have always been a lover of curls in spite of my naturally straight hair. But until recently, curling my hair and making the curl stay for more than half an hour had just been a pleasant dream.

Few months back, I was browsing the internet for ways to have lasting curls on pin-straight hair. I did find a lot of articles but all of the methods required a curling rod accompanied by a whole lot of expensive hair products. I wasn’t too sure about the whole idea of spending so much for curls I knew might not even last. But I wanted to try my luck with the curling rod.

I went for an inexpensive Inalsa curling rod. Since I bought it from a retail store, it made my wallet light by around Rs1500.

If you have pin-straight hair, to get lasting curls do not wash your hair that day. Make sure your hair is a little dirty but not greasy. Wash your hair two days prior. Follow these easy steps and you’ll end up with gorgeous curls that actually last.

Step 1: Take a small section of hair and apply a small amount of hair gel on it.

Step 2: Take the heated curling rod and attach the section of hair to it as shown.

Step 3: Roll your hair around the rod.

Step 4: Hold the rod for around a minute and then release it.

Repeat these steps for the rest of your hair.

If you need your curls early in the morning and have no time, try curling your hair the night before and use these curlers to hold the curls. Sleep in them overnight and you’ll wake up with gorgeous curls.

Fashion Alert:

For better curls, try taking small sections of hair.

You need to take good after care of you hair as the heat of the curling rod and the hair gel makes you hair really coarse. Make sure you oil your hair properly later to prevent hair breakage.

You can choose the type of curls you want and curl your hair accordingly.

For the final touch, keep that gorgeous smile on and stay stylish. Do not forget to leave your comments and suggestions.hairstyle
